I am 22 weeks pregnant with severe neck pain?
Last Saturday night I slept very uncomfortably trying to get all my pillows just right. Ever since then I have had incredible neck pain. It hurts everytime I move my neck around. It is even worse at night while I try and sleep my neck stiffens up and when I go to turn my neck kills and it makes me want to cry. I am not sure if this is pregnancy related or if I just have torn a ligament in my neck and need to wait it out. Anyone have this problem?
When you are pregnant your body is completely different with added hormones, weight and an overall feeling that you are not able to get comfortable, especially at night. Plus you have to be extra careful with what meds you take. It appears that you have strained your neck muscles. So here are a few suggestings for you on how to get some neck pain relief:
1) Don’t sleep with so many pillows- you want to have one good cervical support neck pillow. One that will make sure that your head and neck are properly aligned while sleeping. Sleeping with too many pillow can create forward head posture which puts a ton of pressure on the neck muslces and nerves- which means neck pain, stiff neck and overall decrease in neck range of motion. Why are my neck and shoulders still hurting after I replaced my mattresses?
1 week ago I replaced my queen bed because me and my wife started feeling neck and back pain, we bought a Sealy Posturepedic Ultra Plush Cal King from a liquidator warehouse for $600 new, the boxsprings are new but not originals, and were set them on the ground because they didnt fit on our old queen base.
Based on this information, should we get new pillows too because they are the culprits of our neck and shoulder pain, or is the mattress defective because we got it from a liquidator, or do we need a base for it? I’m thinking all we need are some good new pillows.
If you started feeling neck and back pain months or years after the original bed its unlikely to be the bed. I would say new pillows are a good idea. But remember, even with the box springs and mattresses, that floor they are on is unforgiving.
Maybe stress in your lives? Don’t rule that out. The fact that you both started to feel it is interesting.
Finally, about hard beds, everybody is different. I tend to like softer ones myself.
